29th January Workshop
Storm at Sea with Janet Goddard

Using fabric, sheers and stitch to create your own piece to frame. A fabric pack containing felt, fabric, organza, threads and beads will be provided at a cost of £6. Soldering irons and heat guns will also be available to use.

29th April In-house Workshop
Recycled Denim Bag with Janet Bevan

Deconstruct an old pair of denim jeans and re-purpose as a bag with a landscape picture.

Note: You will need to deconstruct before the workshop. Instructions will be sent with confirmation.

6th/7th May    Mandy Munroe

Talk: Trunk Show
Workshop: Log Cabin Interrupted

A modern take on the log cabin block introducing lots of negative space with improvisational use of colour. We’ll concentrate on colour and technique. Ideal for intermediate quilters looking to step outside of the traditional and be more spontaneous with their piecing

10th June In-house Workshop
Christmas Cracker Placemats with Maggie Breakspear

Applique these adorable placemats in time for this Christmas – they will be treasured for years to come.

22nd/23rd July   Gail Lawther

Talk: Birds of a Feather
Workshop: Twilight Silhouettes
As the light of the sun fades, the silhouettes of different birds appear against the twilight landscapes. All the dark motifs are fused onto backgrounds pieced from strips of fabric; your background can be quite detailed (eg using Jelly Roll strips), or created from three or four much deeper pieces. You can even use a single piece of dramatically-shaded fabric. (On the day, Gail will bring a few different pieces of shaded fabric that would make good backgrounds, either for the design you’re doing that day or others you might want to do in the future!)

You can copy one of the four designs, or design your own version on the day by mixing and matching the bird and plant motifs Gail will supply. During the workshop, we’ll explore lots of different methods of simple machine-quilting.

23rd/24th/25th September
