AGM 2018 Minutes 

 

OAST QUILTERS

Minutes of the Annual General Meeting of Oast Quilters, held on 8th December 2018 at Simon Langton School for Boys, Canterbury, beginning at 2.30pm.

1.   Apologies for Absence

There were no apologies for absence from officers.  Apologies from members were too numerous to record.  

  1. Minutes of the 2017 AGM

The minutes of the meeting held on 2nd December 2017 were agreed to be a true record and signed by the Chairman.

3.   Matters Arising

None

4.  Chairman’s Report

Cheques were awarded, and the winners will make presentations on how their Bursary was used at the March 2019 meeting.

Festival of Quilts 2018 Exhibits from Oast Members

 

 

Oast Quilters were very proud to have raised a significant sum at the 2016 Oast Showcase which allowed us to present cheques to three local Charities.  Headway, a charity that supports those with an aquired head injury, CLAPA (Hair Lip and Cleft Palate Assocation) and EKUBS, a breast screening support charity.  Presentations were made at Oast Open Meeting  on 24th September, 2016

Winner of Visitors Choice

The winner of both the Best Quilt in the Show and the Quilted Item that Most People Wanted to Take Home, is Elizabeth Melville, with her beautiful quilt. ‘Blues’ which includes blocks with a wide variety of interpretation on the theme, ‘blue’.  A very worthy winner.

Here are some photographs of the Oast 2016 Showcase held today 3rd June and visited by the Lord Mayor and Lady Mayoress of Canterbury. An absolutely super day and a stunning array of quilts and other items.
